If you’re living with depression, anxiety, PTSD, an eating disorder, or chronic emotional pain, it can feel like you’ve tried everything, and still something is missing. At Inner Space, we offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as a safe, structured, and deeply supportive path toward healing, insight, and meaningful change.
Our approach is both accessible and integrative, blending insurance-covered therapy with attentive, trauma-informed support. This is not just a series of ketamine sessions. It is a thoughtfully designed therapeutic journey that honors the whole self: mind, body, and soul.
At Inner Space, Ketamine‑Assisted Services now include three pathways of support, each blending ketamine medicine with preparation, integration, and a trauma‑informed, nervous‑system‑aware approach.
You choose the level of support that aligns with your needs:
Therapist‑Led Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Doula‑Supported Ketamine Sessions, or Ketamine‑Assisted Coaching (KAC).
WHAT IS KETAMINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY (KAP)?
KAP combines the medicine of ketamine with psychotherapy, somatic awareness, and intentional integration. Ketamine can help shift perspective, soften rigid patterns, and open access to insight and emotional processing. Therapy before and after sessions ensures these experiences are understood, integrated, and translated into lasting change.
Our model includes multiple pathways to support a range of needs, from those seeking clinical therapy to those looking for structured, non‑clinical or more accessible forms of support. Each path is rooted in the same principles that guide all of our work: safety, attunement, personalization, and ethical care.
At Inner Space, KAP is always:
Trauma-informed
Nervous-system aware
Personalized to your pace and goals
Held within a safe, ethical, and clinically supervised container
OUR UNIQUE, INTEGRATED MODEL
Inner Space offers a comprehensive KAP program that bridges clinical therapy with holistic support.
Each KAP journey includes:
Assessment, preparation, and integration therapy with a licensed, KAP-trained therapist (covered by most insurance plans)
Ketamine dosing sessions supported by either a licensed therapist or a trained Ketamine Doula (not covered by insurance)
Optional therapeutic technologies to support nervous system regulation, embodiment, and integration
This integrated model ensures continuity, safety, and depth throughout your care.
Whether you’re working with a therapist, doula, or coach, each path maintains the same Inner Space standards of trauma‑informed care, nervous‑system awareness, and ethical support.
THREE PATHWAYS OF KETAMINE ASSISTED SERVICES
Ketamine‑Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) — Therapist‑Led
A licensed therapist provides assessment, preparation, presence during the dosing session, and integration therapy. This option offers a fully therapist-led experience and may involve longer wait times depending on availability.
You can learn more about our Integrative Therapists here.
This is our most clinically robust path and is ideal for persons served seeking trauma‑informed, therapy‑driven support throughout the entire process.
Doula-Supported Ketamine Session - Clinically Guided, Access Expanded
To increase accessibility and reduce wait times, Inner Space offers a Ketamine Doula option.
A Ketamine Doula is a formally trained support professional, often with clinical education, who provides grounded, non-therapeutic presence during the dosing session. Doulas are trained in presence, safety, nervous system awareness, and psychedelic care ethics.
Your licensed KAP therapist completes all clinical assessment, preparation, and integration sessions, ensuring your journey remains clinically guided and ethically held.
Why clients choose the Doula option:
Faster access to care
More affordable dosing support through a sliding fee scale
Trauma-informed, attuned presence
Therapist-led integration remains unchanged
This option expands access and reduces wait times while ensuring your journey remains clinically directed and ethically held.
Ketamine‑Assisted Coaching (KAC) - Insight + Integration for Growth
Ketamine-Assisted Coaching (KAC) is a non-clinical, growth-oriented support path designed for individuals seeking clarity, emotional expansion, purpose alignment, and self-development alongside legally prescribed ketamine care.
Rather than focusing on mental health treatment, KAC centers on personal mastery, embodied insight, and integrating the perspectives that may emerge during ketamine experiences.
This path includes:
Coaching-based preparation
Non-clinical support during legally prescribed ketamine sessions
Integration through the lens of values, embodiment, emotional intelligence, and aligned action
KAC is ideal for individuals seeking to explore meaning, creativity, life transitions, relational patterns, and personal growth within a non-clinical, supportive container.
***Ketamine is prescribed by an independent licensed medical provider and self-administered by the client. Coaches provide non-clinical support and do not prescribe, administer, or direct medication or provide medical or mental health treatment.
WHO KETAMINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY CAN HELP
Clinical research and real-world experience show KAP may be beneficial for:
Depression

Unlike traditional antidepressants, which may take weeks to work, ketamine often produces more rapid shifts in perspective and symptom relief, sometimes after just a few sessions.
OUR WHOLE PERSON, INTEGRATED APPROACH
We treat the whole person, not just symptoms. Clients may choose to incorporate supportive, evidence-informed practices before, during, or after sessions, including:
Nervous system regulation and somatic practices
Mindfulness, breathwork, and journaling
These options help insights land not only cognitively, but also in the body and nervous system.
WHAT TO EXPECT: KETAMINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY
Interest & Screening – Complete the Contact Form below & select KAP under services requested. Someone from our team will then send a separate KAP screening form for you to complete. Our team reviews your history and eligibility.
Assessment – A licensed therapist conducts an initial clinical assessment to personalize your care plan. If approved, you will be referred to a prescribing provider who will complete a psychiatric evaluation, confirm eligibility, and prescribe ketamine if appropriate.
Preparation – Prep sessions help set intentions, explain the process, and build tools for navigating your experience. No medicine is involved.
Dosing Session – Ketamine is utilized in these 2-3 hour sessions. Supported by either a licensed therapist or a Ketamine Doula. A calm, comfortable environment with eyeshades and music supports inward focus. You will not be able to drive after your dosing sessions and will need to arrange for transportation home.
Integration – Follow-up therapy sessions, usually scheduled 1-3 days after dosing sessions, translate insights into meaningful, lasting changes in daily life. No medicine is involved.
Most clients participate in a 4–6 session protocol, with integration support between sessions.
SAFETY, RISKS + ACCESSIBILITY WITH KETAMINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY
Ketamine assisted psychotherapy is generally safe when provided in an appropriate clinical setting. Possible effects include dissociation, dizziness, nausea, and temporary changes in perception. These are carefully monitored by your care team and prescribing medical provider.
We currently serve adults (18+) residing in Iowa. Some therapy services are covered by insurance. Sliding scale and financing options may be available to increase accessibility.
