TECH THERAPIES: SALT THERAPY
WHAT IS SALT THERAPY?
Salt therapy, also known as halotherapy, is a passive respiratory therapy that disperses pharmaceutical-grade dry salt particles into the air to support respiratory health and nervous system calm.
At Inner Space, the Salt Lounge is designed as a restorative environment where you can sit comfortably while micro-particles of salt circulate through the space. Sessions are structured, quiet, and intentionally low-stimulation.
This is not a spa add-on. It is respiratory and nervous system support delivered in a clinical wellness setting.
HOW SALT THERAPY SUPPORTS THE BODY + NERVOUS SYSTEM
Dry salt therapy works primarily through the respiratory system.
When inhaled, microscopic salt particles may help:
Draw moisture from inflamed airways
Support mucus clearance
Create an environment less favorable to certain pathogens
Reduce respiratory irritation
Because breath and nervous system function are directly connected, improved respiratory ease can also support parasympathetic activation, the state associated with rest, regulation, and recovery.
In practical terms, you may notice:
Easier breathing
Reduced chest tightness
A calmer overall state
Less reactivity to stress
Halotherapy research has explored its potential role in respiratory support and airway inflammation management, particularly in conditions involving congestion or irritation.
BENEFITS OF SALT THERAPY
Salt Lounge sessions may support:
Respiratory clarity
Reduced sinus congestion
Airway support
Immune system function
Skin health (through topical exposure)
Nervous system down-regulation
Stress reduction
Research on halotherapy suggests potential benefits for airway function, inflammatory response, and respiratory comfort.
WHO THE SALT LOUNGE IS BEST FOR
Salt therapy may be a good fit if you:
Experience seasonal congestion
Have mild respiratory irritation
Feel chronically stressed or overstimulated
Want passive nervous system support
Are pairing sessions with bodywork or tech therapies
It is especially supportive during seasonal transitions when immune resilience is challenged.
THIS THERAPY MAY NOT BE APPROPRIATE IF:
You have severe or unstable respiratory conditions
You are experiencing active respiratory infection
You have advanced lung disease requiring medical supervision
You have been advised to avoid aerosolized environments
If you have respiratory concerns, consult your healthcare provider before booking.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR SESSION
While appointment bookings are 1 hour in length (for our required salt lounge reset), your time in the salt lounge is 40 minutes.
You’ll sit in a comfortable lounge setting in anti-gravity chairs, with options for weighted blankets and eye masks, while dry salt particles circulate in the air. There is no physical contact required.
You may taste light salt in the air or feel subtle dryness in the throat. Hydration after your session is encouraged.
Most clients leave feeling clearer, lighter, and more settled.
