Some of the most personal, vulnerable, and meaningful parts of our lives (our sexuality, our desire, our relationships, our intimacy with ourselves and others), are also the parts we’re most likely to struggle with quietly.
Sarah Brekke is a somatic relationship, intimacy, and sex coach based in the Des Moines area. She works with individuals and couples navigating sexuality, desire, erotic disconnection, intimacy challenges, and the places where connection can feel confusing, painful, shut down, or hard to talk about. Her work helps clients build relationships that feel more honest, more connected, and more fully alive.
Her approach is somatic, trauma-informed, and grounded in curiosity, compassion, and real-life complexity. This is not therapy. It is focused, practical coaching for people who are ready to explore their patterns, speak more honestly about sex and intimacy, and create more connection, confidence, and authenticity in their lives and relationships.
Who Sarah Works With
Sarah works with individuals and couples who are experiencing:
Desire differences or mismatched needs within a relationship
Postpartum changes affecting intimacy and connection
Communication challenges around sex, desire, needs, and boundaries
Relationship structures outside conventional norms
A sense of disconnection - from a partner, from themselves, or both
Sexual concerns or questions they haven't known where to take
If you've been carrying something privately that feels too personal, too complicated, or too outside the mainstream to bring somewhere else, this is a space built for exactly that.
△ Sarah’s Approach △
Sarah's work is somatic and trauma-informed, meaning it takes the body seriously as part of the healing and growth process, and it moves at a pace that feels safe and sustainable for you.
She creates a space where clients can explore their desires, challenges, and patterns with honesty and without judgment. Sessions are collaborative, grounded in real-life complexity, and oriented toward what you actually want - not a prescribed version of what your relationships should look like.
Sarah is also the founder of The Connection Lab, a coaching practice built around the belief that more connected, authentic relationships are possible for everyone, and that getting there usually starts with one honest conversation.
Why this work belongs at Inner Space
Inner Space was built on the belief that real wellness is integrated, that the nervous system, mental health, physical recovery, and the quality of our relationships are all connected.
Relationship and intimacy coaching belongs here for the same reason everything else does: because how connected we feel to ourselves and others directly shapes how safe our nervous system feels, how we process stress, and how capable we are of healing. Sarah's work is rigorous, body-based, and deeply human in its delivery…exactly what Inner Space stands for.
Meet Sarah
Sarah’s path to this work wasn’t a straight line. With a background in science and years spent studying human experience through a different lens, she eventually found her way to the Somatica® Method of sex and relationship coaching and knew she had found the work she was meant to do.
As a wife, a mother, and someone who understands how intimacy can get buried under stress, life transitions, and the demands of real life, Sarah brings both deep care and real-world perspective to this work. Her style is warm, grounded, honest, and non-shaming, a space where clients can talk about the things they’ve often carried quietly and begin creating something more connected, more alive, and more true.
